I saw your show last night at Kulak's Woodshed. It was great to see and hear you. I wore out my Batdorf & Rodney LPs from the 70s. Glad you mentioned where I could get the CDs. I bought them that night. I hope the "Life Is You" album is released on CD someday. Keep on makin' the great music.

I owned all 3 Batdorf and Rodney albums when I was in high school. Nice to know that John is still alive and kicking! I'll try to make the Fret House concert.

I'm really getting excited about the two shows coming up on March 17th at Kulaks Woodshed and March 18th at the Fret House...Me & my buddy Spark/Mark are once again driving down from San Jose...YAHOO ROADTRIP! Last night I went onto the live webcast at Kulaks just to check it out...Folks - you have to check this thing out...it is AWESOME and it's FREE. I wanted to make sure my husband could get on & see the show next week while I'm down there (Kinda like a dry run). I highly suggest you all try that so that on show night you can sail right to it...man this technology stuff is sure a great way to be there when you can't be there. Anyway...check it out! Can't wait until next weekend. EVER YOUR FAN - Charlette

I became a fan of Batdorf & Rodney when those albums first came out - and that influenced me to pick up the acoutic guitar. I just wanted to say thanks for all the great music!

Hello John. I have followed your music since 'Off the Shelf' first came out many years ago. No matter how many years pass - the music stays fresh and meaningful - which is quite an accomplishment. I once had the chance to see Batdorf & Rodney in Portland - Oregon but one of you guys was sick with the flu and had to cancel. On the bill with you was some unknown guy named Jim Croce who I'd only ever heard of from 'Bad - Bad Leroy Brown' and I could have cared less about hearing that so I cashed in my tickets for a refund and went home. Within a matter of months he died in a plane crash and the good stuff came out. I have always regretted both having not had the chance to see Batdorf & Rodney on your first tour and for having never seen Jim Croce. I can only imagine what a magical night it would have been to see both Batdorf & Rodney and Jim Croce in a single show. Thank you for a lot of great music - John. I have everything you've recorded over the years. Ron Lindeboom - creativecow.net

My wife & I have loved your music for years. Thanks for keeping it going! How about checking out Wildwood Springs Lodge - Steele - MO. Its a great venue for acoustic and only 1 hr. drive from St. Louis where you have an enormous fan base. Hope to see you there! wildwoodspringslodge.com

I've been a huge fan of Batdorf & Rodney since the early 70's. The first three lp's (which I still own & enjoy) are still amazing. Nice to see them being offered on CD. Classic stuff!! Thanks for all the years of enjoyment.

John-Everyone thinks that they are your biggest fan - and I'm sure we all are. However - I have been loving your music longer than most. After driving 6 hours to see you play at Gayle's Perks last Friday - My friend & I listened to your CD with Michael on the way home. I was so wired from all the coffee & so moved by the music of you & your friends that I would never have slept anyway. Seeing you play in that small intimate setting was like being at home with friends. When Gen & I use to follow you guys around in your SILVER days I always wished I could see you guys play in that type of setting. For you fans that don't know - almost 30 years ago my friend Gen/Donna & I decide to drive to Colorado one weekend to surprise John & all the other SILVER band members. We got all the way there only to find out the show had been cancelled. On the way home Gen/Donna drove us over a cliff in Larame - Wyoming & we had to get towed back up onto the road. We were in our twenties then. Now here we are in our fifties...each driving 6 hours to see you again (top that you youngsters). We fell in love with your music along time ago and the love affair continues today. In case you didn't notice we knew all the words to all your Silver songs and many others...WE ARE YOUR GREATEST FANS...but there is always room for even greater fans!Your new stuff is awesome and I loved hearing you play with Michael. His son is so young & talented...I hope to hear more from him in the future. Seeing Greg was wonderful. I'm glad he's doing something with his songs...it would be such a waste not to share them with the world. It was good to see that Steve is still with you sometimes...takes me back to Indigo recording studio. AND you still have the most beautiful wife...how lucky you both are to have each other after all this time. Don't be surprised to see me again soon. We laughed on the way home that we drove all the way to LA to kick back & relax & hear some great music with people who are so warm & down to earth...a rare treat for the music world. Thanks again John (& Friends) You made my heart sing...EVER YOUR FAN - Love - Charlette

Too many things to say in appreciation for your years of great writing. I first heard you at USC (LA) in 72 (I think). Even have a recording of you and Mark on KPPC doing the 'The Play'... never heard it anywhere else... Found you in the early 90's with McLean and rejoiced.. Great music... and with Stanley doing Stones - WOW!!! Beats 'Pickin' on...' series any day... Keep the Acoustic Duo stuff.. that is the best (like the XM show)... Do Jammin' Java in Vienna - VA sometime... love to see you in person again... Your music has stayed with some of us a long long time....

I remember several artists and several styles that most influenced my own style of music writing and acoustic guitar work. I can tell you that there's been no more lasting influence than Batdorf & Rodney. The combination of acoustic lead guitar - clear and unaltered vocals - and "up and down the neck" rythym's are still present in my music today. Thank you so much for your early work......and now for being available and staying in touch. Your music still lives on the Sunday morning classics show on KSHE 95 in St. Louis. You might want to give John Ulett (the host) a call.

Hey man - Youse guys go off! (At least you did in the 70's) I wasn't there unfortunately cos I'm only 17 but I have never heard anything as exceptional as your intricate playing and incredible sonwriting ability. You have inspired me and as I sit here with my guitar I want to know...where can I get some tabs of you guys? All I have so far is parts of some songs my dad tought me. We are keeping the dream alive down here in australia and listening to you always. You are the soundtrack to my life.

It was a joy to catch you playing at Kulak's Woodshed last night. I enjoyed a number of Batdorf and Rodney concerts "back in the day." You and James Lee Stanley are a great match for the Stones music AND the old B&R stuff. Thanks much.
