John-Thanks for re-playing "Home Again" last night at the Gardnerville concert and signing my CD's. Your performance was just excellent! Something that we will remember forever. RH - Reno - NV
I heard your music in Hawaii in about 1976 and just purchased your "off the shelf"and the "Under five" cd. What a blessing. I don't know exactly why your music has stuck in my mind - but... David Wilcox is my favorite singer/songwriter/person. He is real and happy.I'd love to see you guys in San Diego. Thank you for your music. Dave!
Aloha John - It was wonderful meeting you today and listening to your lovely music here on Maui at our Upcountry Sunday Acoustic Style Show at Casanova. And meeting your wife too!!! Isn't her name Melanie? It takes me a couple of years to remember names. You gave me your phone number because I'm coming to LA for awhile and I'll give you a ring. It's good to know good people in LA. It's going to be quite an adventure for me as I've been wanting to do this a long time - and luckily have a good manager. It was so great meeting you and your kind wife. Come back to Maui again; we really appreciate your playing at our gig.Aloha Nui Loa - Cindy (Sherry and I take the money at the door. I'm too shy to sing - but I like to) See you in LA!!!
Howdy all...if you are a John Batdorf fan - please check out the Yahoo group and join us...we are a fun group and would love to hear from you! Even if you are not a fan (YET)...check it out. Ciao now
This is my first time on my space - i got an email from a friend this morning - with the little girl who is painting visions of God and Heaven and clicked onto the links - what a pleasant surprise - to hear your great music.
You guys are awesome!! I saw you play at My Fathers Place in Rosalyn - Long Island in the 70's. I nerver forgot that show. How about a reunion with Mark? I wore out and replaced your 3 LP's many times. Please tour Long Island - you would pack the house. God Bless
Great Website John! Very informative and easy to navigate.Colin
Hey John - I made my living playing music for about 8 years through 1977. I was in SoCal when a roommate of mine introduced me to "Off The Shelf". I was floored. The best music I'd heard in a long time and one of my favorites to date. I had the opportunity to see you and Mark play at the Troubador in Hollywood/Santa Monica. Great show! When I heard "Wham Bam" on the radio by a group "Silver" - I recognized that "voice". I bought the album. I have all 3 B&R albums.Anxious to get Home Again. Thanks for great memories.Sam
Hi John - I've been a fan since the early '70s when "Can You See Him" was all over the radio. My buddies and I learned it and would jam forever on that one. "Off the Shelf" has been one of my most favorite albums ever. "All Wood and Stones" was surprisingly good. Even my wife likes it and she hates the Stones. Can't wait until I get the new one.Happy New Year - Dave
I listened to "Home Again" and feel like I should light a Bic lighter - asking for more-more-more.Good stuff my friend. With every good wish - Helmut
To all who enter and read here -- as well as to John -- HOME AGAIN is pure superb bliss for those of us who love harnonic vocals and to-die-for acoustic music. I urge all who visit here to go listen to the samples - read the history and the lyrics - and pre-order the CD. If you've already visited here because of John's past involvement in favorite music of yours - HOME AGAIN will quickly become a new favorite; of this I have no doubt.
I first heard of John Batdorf when in about 1996 I picked up a tape titled Look Inside from the LDS Bookstore in Sydney Australia. My wife and I and 9 children were travelling along the East coast of Australia and 'Look Inside' became our favourite tape to play as we drove - hour after hour. The tape is quite worn now and try as I might I have been unable to get a new copy (on Cd). did recently purchase Batdorf and Mclean - The Early Years. Your lyrics are superb - insightful and uplifting. Can't hear 'I Will Not Be Afraid' enough. Thanks so much - your music touched us all during that holiday years ago and continues to provide inspiration to all in this family as we listen again and again to what can only be described as inspired lyrics / music.
all wood and stones is great.I like the Stones - but hearing All Wood And Stones for the first time - blew me away - it was like familiar - but with much better guitar playing and vocals.I`ll be buying your new cd .
can't wait to get the new cd! jeff from middletown ohio
I LOVE you guys!! I fell madly in love with your music in college...have all 3 vinyl albums and Silver. So glad that I found your site and looking forward to the new CD! Peace - Michael
If you are the son of one Jack Batdorf - from Ohio - I am Tom Lovejoy's nephew. If you are the same - I was lucky enough to sit in your kitchen one night about 1964 - and listen to you play - and sing. I was a little guy - and you let me pick songs to sing while you - and my cousin - Mike Lovejoy played. If you aren't the same - I still enjoyed your XM Loft special. If I don't get Wood & Stones for Christmas - I will be making the purchase. Try to get on XM again. Good suff you have.
John - Your music is simply amazing. I hope you will continue putting out more music! All the best to you and yours!
