Hi John - I just wanted to thank you for the great show that you and Mark put on for everyone up at the Trinity House in Michigan. Man I must say - you have a voice that is second to none - and to get to shake your hand after the show was fantastic(I`m the dude that was wearing the black cap). I just bought some of your CD`s and a DVD from your site - that`s how much you impressed me that night - great work man - keep the songs coming. All the best to you - Mark and your family. Martin
Hello John - In 1974 I walked into a music store in Long Beach California that seemed to be selling nothing but Batdorf & Rodney albums. The Walls were covered with them and so I bought one. This music changed my life. I was living in Boston at the time and had a guitar and singing partner that also fliped when he heard your sound. We now live in Scottsdale - AZ and still get together a couple times a month to Jam and work in my studio producing originals and jingles. When we get out the Martin guitars we still tend to incorporate your sound into our music. Thanks for the ride!At your sevice - RobPlease visit my web site at colormiracles.com PS: Do you have any plans to perform in AZ in the future?
Saw you and Mark at Canal Street Tavern in Dayton on Sept.28. Fantastic show!!! Thanks for all the music and positive energy! Hope to see you again soon!
Two years ago - I saw John perform with James Lee Stanley at the Kent Stage. It was excellent - but I really would have loved to hear more of John's own material. Last year I saw John perform as a solo artist at the same venue. It was unbelievable; an excellent mix of his solo work combined with some great Batdorf and Rodney songs. This past Saturday - we again went to the Kent Stage and saw John and Mark perform together. A truly magical evening. I really can't imagine it getting any better than this (unless they played for a couple more hours). John still sounded great on his solo material - but adding Mark to the Batdorf and Rodney tunes just seemed to make them complete. His guitar work was almost note for note perfect; you could close your eyes and easily imagine that it was the early 70's - and you were listening to one of their vinyl albums. I've been to a lot of concerts and seen a lot of big name acts over the decades - but for pure enjoyment - this was one of the best. My only hope is that they both return next year. Please.
enjoyed seeing you and Mark at Canal Street. You gave Debby and me your song list. What would it take to get you and Mark to play for a private group. I am thinking next summer.Have a very private venue in mind.Fenced in - pool - indoor alternative - private home. A number of Dayton people & some friends. Locale I m thinking of is NE of Atlanta near Marietta. Hope we can work something out. My best to you. I feel like I owe you something.... ? Friday night was really special. Thanks.
John - Thanks for all the great music through the years.I first saw you and Mark at the Victoria Theatre in Dayton Ohio in 1972.I had just begun to play guitar and after seeing you just HAD to have a Martin.I bought a D-35 and still have it..Best investment I ever made!! Looking foward to seeing you @ the Canal Street Tavern in Dayton on Sept.28 Hope you can sign an old B&R album cover for me. Again - thanks for your music and inspiration to play! (My Martin thanks you also)...Dan Dobyns

Thank you so much for singing "One Day" for us at your concert at AMSD. That is my most favorite song! We really enjoyed your concert. You guys are awesome! Hope to see you soon!
The Aug.11 show at AMSD was the best show yet. Sounded like the B&R of old! Keep it goin' - guys!
I was at your concert tonight in Minden - NV. Thank you so much for coming; you made me want to be 20 again - and then I shed a tear or two because even your best song will not bring back my youth. Yeah - you really touched me. I bought the last copy (on the table) of "All Wood and Stones" and I think it is smashing. When I got home I watched your DVD and I cried again - but this time because I was so touched by that which obviously touched your heart - as well. So - I have a modest proposal for you although I certainly am no Jonathan Swift. And I will e-mail that proposal to you tomorrow. Right now - though - I am going to get horizontal and listen to my old man snore. In Love - Light - Joy - and Abundant Co-Creation - Arieljoy Fine Oh - and PS: I am a valley girl. I attended Lankershim elementary and J.B. Monlux elementary in North Hollywood. James Madison Jr. High and Grant High also in North Hollywood. And then finished my last two years of high school at Granada Hills - which I understand has become a charter school.I received my B.A. from Cal State Northridge in 1973.
Just saw you and Mark Rodney at Boulevard Music in Culver City and you signed my album "Life is You" which I discovered is your least favorite. So I bought CD's of your prior albums and have been playing them constantly. They are awesome! Your music now and then is like magic - good karma and energy. The '70s will never ever happen again and I'm grateful that Batdorf & Rodney will forever be linked to a special time in my life. Thank you!!!

John....What a thrill it was to meet you and James in Roanoke. As a fan of yours since you and Mark released your first album - I was really pleased to be able to meet and chat with you for awhile. You guys simply sounded great - were wonderfully open and friendly towards me and my family and only wish that you could have played longer. I will continue to keep up with you through your web site and hope that you'll return to this area again before too long. Thanks for being here and reminding me of days long past and music always enjoyed. By the way....the new music is absolutly terrific...listened to both of the CD's after we returned home last night.....thanks
