Great website! I was a fan since just after the 1st B & R album came out...telling everyone - and getting them to buy it too. This continued until I was finding the third album in bargain bins and I bought extras to let my good friends buy off me at cost. I remember the Silver album in the bargain bins too but missed the personnel list or I'd have bought it. Now I'll have to go find it somewhere.Best Regards - BB

Received "Old Man Dreamim'" yesterday. The return address was hand-labeled "Batdorf"... too cool!! The CD is just outstanding!! Great writing - musicianship - sonics and production work! We will enjoy it (and recommend it) for years to come. You're really better-than-ever John!! Ron Linzell (Madison - WI)

I came across you while searching the web on how to market my song lyrics!I have three of Batdorf & Rodney's LP's and at one point in history was attempting to put a band together with your drummer/bass player - John Mouceri. The other member involved was a girl who tried to play like Hendrix and sing like Joplin! Anyway - on our way to our first gig - the dang drive shaft gave out on the station wagon somewhere in Connecticut or Mass.! It's great to see you're still making music! Sent your page link to family and friends. As for me... still writing!Oh yes - I once had the pleasure of attending one of your shows... years ago in Connecticut! The place if memory serves was called The Barn! I'm having trouble remembering the town out there in the country! Been there a couple of times and remember Cheap Trick playing... heck - maybe that was YOUR gig?!Well John - hope you're getting a good grin out out of this and god bless you and yours! Thanks for the memories! Hi John - Just wanted to let you know how much I LOVE your new CD. I've been a fan since your earliest recordings with Mark Rodney (I've even got the CD of SILVER).Being a musician/singer myself - I played several of your songs many years ago and still do to this day! When I can - I push your CDs (and video) at every opportunity. I think I've collected everything you've done as an acoustic artist over the years. I can't tell you how happy I was to see you back recording and performing again as a soloist.I've played guitar and sung professionally most of my life - but just never seemed to be at the right place at the right time to get a recording contract. Came close a few times but...I was born in Vancouver - BC - Canada - raised in California - and now live (with a Swedish wife) for the last 6 years - just outside London - England. I still play acoustically and sing full time (original and cover songs). I just played POOR MAN'S DREAM and HOME AGAIN at a gig this last weekend ;)Please keep on making great music. You're truly an inspiration. At a youthful 50+ - I need all the inspiration I can get!I can only hope you'll one day see a way to gig in London. It's so ironic to think that if I'd left for England to live just a few years later than I did - I probably could have seen you perform live at any number of your current California gigs. Story of my life! Thanks for taking the time to read this. The best of life and love to you John.Kindest Regards - Colin Neil

Just bought your CD after watching your videos. You have a great sound - takes me back to CBN and NY - but just because I know your music and know what influenced you in the early years. Your music is even better now. Love the old stuff - but really love the new stuff that you are doing. Great songs on the new CD "Old Man"! Congrats from an old friend. Thanks for keeping us entertained!Randy Smith - Beavercreek High School - 1971 - the early years!...FYI...Beavercreek was between Dayton and Yellow Springs...just in case you don't remember. Thanks - Randy

Who did you open for in 1972-73 at the Ice Palace. I know it was Steely Dan or the Doobie Brothers or was it both. Some of the best times (John and Mark days) were at "The Kitchen" upstairs at UNLV (NSU at the time) The Weeds - The Scatter Blues all great local bands who could have made it....but didn't for one reason or another. Peace from Ireland

I have all Batdorf and Rodney CDs along with Batdorf and McLean - Silver and last solo effort. Home Again is excellent from start to finish. Nice acoustics and singing. By the way - any plans on putting out guitat tabs for your music.I see that you are playing at Cafe Lena and Town Crier in NYS. I am from the other side of the state near Buffalo. Not sure I can make it out there - although I would like to know what songs you are playing during your shows.Take Care. Tom

John - Listening to a Doobie Bros. Cd that reminded me of one the songs off the 1st B & R album. Don't know why but at our age flashbacks seem to be a regular thing. So - I Googled Batdorf and Rodney and here I am. I bought your album when heard from buds in Beavercreek about it. Really liked it and shared with people in Montana. Lived there - Missoula - on and off thru the 70's & early 80's. They liked it as well and at that time Montana was full of aspiring musicians so there was credibility. Had been sharing music with this crowd - stuff I'd heard in Ohio and they in turn - were sharing CA - etc. music. One of my roomies stole your album when he moved to N. Mexico. Hope this helped spread the word. Doubt you remember me - but I considered you a friend in Beavercreek. We used to ride together once in a while playing Little League. How many people know you were a pretty good ball player? In school people called me Mondello. Hung around with a few you may remember - Bob Beatty - Paul Kirchner - who convinced to move to Montana - where my mind grew as well as my hair. Saw at least 2 names on this post that were buddies of mine - Bill Sword and Jack Linville. Saw you with Harry Chapin - but a little too backword to say Hi - maybe a little too high to say Hi. I get to listen some of your music on this site as I am a fan. See you're in Portland in Oct. Going to do my best to go - but probably won't say Hi. Too something. I live in Wenatchee - Wa - now - so just a half day drive. Good to see you're still at it!!!

I bought an 8 track of Off the Shelf in college in the early 70's. I've enjoyed your music ever since. I bought the CD's of Batdorf and Rodney a couple years ago. I didn't know you teamed up again. If Batdorf and Rodney ever come to the Cleveland/Columbus area I'd really like to go.
