Sun Sep 26 17:12:17 2004 The early 80's were great listening to Life is You on LP. I have hunted for several years - and finally found one. Even more astounding is when I ask questions to your website - and you personelly answer. Totally blown away. I used to have a good friend who played the acustic at parties - during the "formative" years. He two moved from the mid-west to the LA area to write/perform for Television. I guess like yourself - he followed his passion and found what his calling was.Regards - Mark
Sun Sep 26 20:36:31 2004 Honored to have created the first movie John Batdorf scored! Sort of. Used Batdorf and Rodney soundtrack with absolutely no permission for a high school super-8 movie production called "Stilled Life" for a school in Kettering - Ohio in 1973. Got so busy making the movie that my girlfriend left me...and that was a good thing - in hindsight! Anyway - glad you are being who you obvsiously were meant to be - John......a Baker man.
Fri Oct 01 7:37:00 2004 I saw you guy in the early 70's on Long Island. Your sound was great then and still is today. I picked up your cd's. Thanks for the music.
Tue Oct 05 20:16:56 2004 Referred By: james lee stanley site John - I am so impressed with you and your work. I used to work at an ad agency and talked often with your wife about you doing some work for us. Sadly it never happened - but I have been a fan since the early Batdorf & Rodney days. I am so curious...having worked with McLean (I have those cds - too) - are you a Latter Day Saint? Your work and is simple in touch - especially now that I know you did work on "The Two Best Years." I'm off to purchase that one. Please keep up the great work. I live in Vegas - and rumors are that Rodney works at a record store in town...have you had any contact with him? glad to hear about the James Lee/John colaboration - too! Best wishes
Sat Oct 09 16:48:25 2004 I've been a big fan since Off The Shelf. Saw you in San Bernadino(1972 I think)opening for Fleetwood Mac. We came to see you. You had trouble with the sound system that night but still stole the show! Fantastic! Thanks for the great music.
Sun Oct 17 14:37:36 2004 Referred By: Eric Woo Great new songs. I am a fan from back in the "can you see him" days and I can't think of the name - but the song with the last line"I think I'm gonna go back to those years". Do you still play those? I do - jamming w/ friends. Aloha.......
Mon Oct 18 0:04:14 2004 John....I just got my ALL WOOD AND STONES CD that you and James made and it sounds great...keep on making great music. James said if it took off you might do some touring...I hope you do
Mon Oct 25 1:25:57 2004 Referred By: Tom Leatherwood We met way back when...in the Canyon - in the '70's. Your dad worked for me for about a minute. Heard about the new album from Leatherwood. Hope to hear it soon. Those jams with you and Duke at Tom's were fantastic. Sure wish that had been recorded. It was some of the finest duet guitar music ever played!
Wed Jul 28 17:00:20 2004 I loved your album "Batdorf and Rodney"The music is great.
Fri Jul 30 23:25:16 2004 Hi John- This is your long lost cousin from OHIO- My husband found your website and we were impressed!! Email me if you ever get a chance.
Tue Aug 10 3:01:53 2004 I grew up in Hawaii where in the 70's acoustic music was king. I loved the local bands but most of all: America - Seals & Croft but most of all Batdorf & Rodney. I have been waiting many years for someone to release your alboms on CD since I've lost my 8-tracks sisnce moving to California in 1981. Sincerely - Rob
Sat Aug 14 7:49:08 2004 John - I have your past albums with Rodney.I grew up in Southern California. I have stayed with the folk rock style music you helped influence through the years - as my favorite. I promote a benefit each year in Woodland - California for the handicapped community. People like Sal Valentino of the Beau Brummels and Barry Melton from Country Joe and the Fish have played along with local talent. Music remains a big part of my life and I feel really good knowing you are still out there making music. I found the Batdorf and Rodney website recently. I wish you continued success. By the way our website Woodlandstock.com (the benefit we do is online). I could not find your CD's available for the first two...Off the Shelf and your Self Titled one. Best Regards - Lance Beem
Sat Aug 14 19:23:14 2004 "Life is You" remains one of my favorite albums of all time. It has a great inspirational theme and words that we all can live by!
Fri Sep 10 10:17:13 2004 Hi - John...Just got my copy of "Life Is You" in my hot little hands - so now I have all 3 B&R albums on CD!!! I'm a happy guy! Love the sound bites for the new "All Wood And Stones" CD with James Lee Stanley and can't wait top get that one in my paws as well. Best - Rob.
Wed Sep 15 6:04:39 2004 We have most of the work you have done with Michael McClean and we really like your work. It would be great to see you live. You have the perfect voice to cover the Harry Nillsonn tune: "Without You". I know Mariah Carey did it a few years ago - but she ruined it. I would really like someone to do the song justice. Keep up the good work. I didn't know of all your other musical accomplishments till I saw your web-page.
Tue Sep 21 21:43:02 2004 Hi John - Thanks for all great music. My girlfriend then - and wife now have been fans for over 30 years. We've worn out several copies of all of your B&R and Silver albums - but still have a set that sound and look great. Weve updated to CDs and have added all of your B&Mc as well - and just ordered the All Wood and Stones CD. I hope those 85 people who heard you play in Malibu realize how lucky they were!
Wed Sep 22 14:16:25 2004 It's fun to know there's other B & R fans out there. I'm looking forward to the new CD "All Wood & Stones" I'm also very envious of the 85 who got to enjoy the home concert - what a treat. Maybe we'll get John B and others up to Idaho in the near future.
