2005-08-10 06:17:21I listened to and loved you guys from the early 1970s when I was at UC Santa Cruz. Your music was unique with and upbeat energy and lifted my spirit in a way that no other musicians did. Years later when I finally had the money to have a system and was trying to collect music that I had loved before - I tried to get your albums/cds but couldnt find them anywhere. This went on for years and I was about to give up hope of ever hearing you guys again. Then Amazon indicated they could get your cds and I was thrilled - but they kept postponing it every 3 weeks for the last 4 months and I finally gave up. It was a lucky thing - because it made me search again and I found this site where I not only got to order your cds at last - but got to hear about how you guys got started and whats gone on since. I know you would have liked being even more famous than you were - and for your sake I wish you had been - but it kind of shows me that like many other artists - the best arent always the most popular. All I know is that I love a lot of kinds of music and different bands - but when I hear you guys - it makes me feel a way that no one else makes me feel -- like theres nothing better in life than this; that this is what life is all about and I cant even explain quite why - but thats how it makes me feel. And now with your cds I can feel that way anytiime. I just want to say - thanks! Rick Peets

Fri Dec 16 11:00:11 2005 Referred By: Steve When I was in high school in Las Vegas - my friend - Ray Dodd and myself used to go to the UNLV coffehouse to see John and Mark. I was so impressed with them as they were doing what I hoped to do when I "grew up". As it turns out - I was a professional musician in the midwest for several years with a little success but not enough to keep it going. I still remember getting the Batdorf and Rodney album - the red and black one - and how it blew me away. As good as John and Mark were - these guys were even better. Oh - by the way - Ray and I went to school with John Mauceri in Las Vegas - Valley High. Wonder what ever happended to him.

Fri Nov 11 12:13:35 2005 Referred By: Google Search I've been trying to find out if the Silver album was ever rereleased or out on CD. So far - I guess not. I bought that album in 19788 and it remains one of my favorites - although it's getting pretty rough to listen to these days (moves all over the country sort of takes a toll on the vinyl I guess). Anyhow - I love your music and thanks for keeping the song alive.

Mon Nov 21 22:17:55 2005 John - Just changing stations tonight on XM and found your session on channel 50. What a delight and what an opportunity for you. I frequently see that XM plays selected John Batdorf songs and it always gives me a charge. I hope your son and wife are doing well. I miss the days of playing softball with Hawkwind. All the best - good health and prosperity to you! If you play anywhere in the So Cal area - please let me know - I'd love to get Rick - Bob and a few guys to see you play. Pete

Sun Oct 23 15:53:49 2005 You were a huge part of my life when I was about 12. I'll never forget when you guys opened for Dan Fogelberg (spelling?) - in Nashville and got a standing ovation and they turned the lights on to bring Dan out. The crowd was furious. Also - Mom and I drove with Uncle Jack to a small town by Nashville to go to your concert. The next morning - Rick your bass player ate breakfast with me. That was way cool. Also - Rick let Mom borrow his jeans because she really liked them. Anyway - when we weren't with you - we were listening to your music. I hope you are happy in life and I am really glad that you and Melanie are still together. Uncle Jack spoke very highly of her. I would like to meet her sometime.Love you! Peggy
