Was I just a dreamer, and was this all a fraud?

Are all the things I once believed in, are not true after all

Once a true believer, now everything seems flawed

Holding on to sanity’s like clinging to a wall

 

But I’ll stand ready, I am determined

My hands are steady, and my eyes are opened wide

If we’re not ready, freedom just might slip away

One day we’ll wake up, with freedom gone

And we’ll wonderin’, where did we go wrong

 

Before this all got started, I thought I’d seen it all

I kept thinkin’ how’s this happening to us, if there is a God

I got so heavy hearted, And couldn’t hear the call

My heart was trying to tell me, that Freedom can’t be bought

 

So I stand ready, I am determined

I pledged my allegiance to my country everyday

We stand for justice, As we cling to Democracy

We are one people, but somehow we lost our way
