Sun Oct 31 17:35:33 2004 John--I have followed you since "Off the Shelf". I was part of a duo in Hawaii and we played almost every tune on the that album. In fact I introduced Kalapana (a popular local group) to Batdorf and Rodney and met you and Mark back stage at the Waikiki Shell during your first concert in Hawaii. You guys were awesome. You and Mark have influenced my guitar style immensely. I hope to see Batdorf and McClean soon in concert. Aloha - Max

I still am in awe of the brilliance - creativity and musical talent. I actually think of Batdorf and Rodney as 1960s music because of its optimisim and sense of possiblity. Fri Sep 24 14:42:41 2004 Referred By: Chris Abood I own 1000 vinyl albums and 600 CDs which I have been collecting since 1968 - and "Off the Shelf" still ranksd in my Top 20 albums of all time. Just brilliant - particularly "Can You See Him - " "Oh My Surprise - " "One Day - " "You Are the One" and "Let Me Go." The B&R album that followed is also a favorite - especially "Home Again - " "All I Need - " and "By Today." The "Life is You" album isn't bad either. Ever since CDs overtook albums as the dominant format - I'd been searching for either of the first two B&R albums on CD - and was delighted when my friend - Chris Abood - located them through Melody Lane. I ordered both - and now enjoy them in regular rotation. It's so much fun to turn on new people to this fabulous music - which I do with great regularity.I like the Batdorf & McLean "Don't You Know" songs - and look forward to the next installment in the John Batdorf life story. Rock on!

Even more astounding is when I ask questions to your website - and you personelly answer. Totally blown away. I used to have a good friend who played the acustic at parties - during the "formative" years. He two moved from the mid-west to the LA area to write/perform for Television. I guess like yourself - he followed his passion and found what his calling was.Regards - Mark

Used Batdorf and Rodney soundtrack with absolutely no permission for a high school super-8 movie production called "Stilled Life" for a school in Kettering - Ohio in 1973. Got so busy making the movie that my girlfriend left me...and that was a good thing - in hindsight! Anyway - glad you are being who you obvsiously were meant to be - John......a Baker man.
