Wed Dec 01 22:00:43 2004 Referred By: LUCK I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND A CD COPY OF "OFF THE SHELF" FOR YEARS. I BELIEVE I'VE WORN THE GROOVE OFF MY VINYL. I GRADUATED IN VEGAS AND REMEMBER YOUR SHOWS AND TOOK YOUR MUSIC EVERYWHERE. I HOPE TO BE ABLE TO CATCH A SHOW SOMEWHERE AND HOW GREAT IT WOULD BE IF YOU TWO PLAYED AGAIN TOGETHER. THE ESCONDIDO CENTER FOR THE PREFORMING ARTS WOULD BE AWESOME - SINCE I NOW LIVE CLOSE TO IT. THANKS FOR YOUR SITE.

Mon Nov 29 14:13:58 2004 Thanks for having a direct source bio online. Yall floored some of us acoustic nuts years ago with the format. I'm so out of it - good luck. It must take a bundle to have a good guitar now compared to 73-75.

Thu Oct 28 5:20:22 2004 Bought your first album back in the early 70's. You were new then and I loved it. Wish I could hear more. Thanks for the great music.

Sun Oct 31 17:35:33 2004 John--I have followed you since "Off the Shelf". I was part of a duo in Hawaii and we played almost every tune on the that album. In fact I introduced Kalapana (a popular local group) to Batdorf and Rodney and met you and Mark back stage at the Waikiki Shell during your first concert in Hawaii. You guys were awesome. You and Mark have influenced my guitar style immensely. I hope to see Batdorf and McClean soon in concert. Aloha - Max

Sun Oct 31 19:54:13 2004 John - Was great to meet you at the FAR-West conference - and to hear you and James play a couple of tunes from "All Wood and Stones" at our Acoustic Vegas & Friends showcase! The question is - when are you going on the road with it? Cheers and hugs - Nancy

Wed Nov 24 1:33:52 2004 Referred By: Your incredible music The music of Batdorf & Rodney is the finest rock music of its era. It will also endure as some of the best rock every produced. I still am in awe of the brilliance - creativity and musical talent. I actually think of Batdorf and Rodney as 1960s music because of its optimisim and sense of possiblity. I truly believe that if this music had appeared in 1965-1968 - it would have rated very high nationally. The people I introduce your music to are amazed and most love it. Good art is always eventually discovered and it endures for eternity because it touches a part of the inner self that can only be touched by music. You have achieved everything music promises to be with this outstanding music.Dr. Jed Davis - Athletic Director/Girls' Basketball - Seattle Hebrew Academy -- Northwest Yeshiva high School

Wed Nov 24 12:13:33 2004 Referred By: Hello from a fan whose older sister brought "Batdorf & Rodney - Off The Shelf" home from college in 1973 and turned her younger brother onto the possibility of playing acoustic guitar that has kept my hands and mind busy and healthy for the better part of the last 30 years. Now the chief wildlife biologist for Yellowstone National Park and still listing to B&R LPs on my old turntable. Embrace the chaos and find the love!

Fri Sep 24 14:42:41 2004 Referred By: Chris Abood I own 1000 vinyl albums and 600 CDs which I have been collecting since 1968 - and "Off the Shelf" still ranksd in my Top 20 albums of all time. Just brilliant - particularly "Can You See Him - " "Oh My Surprise - " "One Day - " "You Are the One" and "Let Me Go." The B&R album that followed is also a favorite - especially "Home Again - " "All I Need - " and "By Today." The "Life is You" album isn't bad either. Ever since CDs overtook albums as the dominant format - I'd been searching for either of the first two B&R albums on CD - and was delighted when my friend - Chris Abood - located them through Melody Lane. I ordered both - and now enjoy them in regular rotation. It's so much fun to turn on new people to this fabulous music - which I do with great regularity.I like the Batdorf & McLean "Don't You Know" songs - and look forward to the next installment in the John Batdorf life story. Rock on!

Sun Sep 26 17:12:17 2004 The early 80's were great listening to Life is You on LP. I have hunted for several years - and finally found one. Even more astounding is when I ask questions to your website - and you personelly answer. Totally blown away. I used to have a good friend who played the acustic at parties - during the "formative" years. He two moved from the mid-west to the LA area to write/perform for Television. I guess like yourself - he followed his passion and found what his calling was.Regards - Mark

Sun Sep 26 20:36:31 2004 Honored to have created the first movie John Batdorf scored! Sort of. Used Batdorf and Rodney soundtrack with absolutely no permission for a high school super-8 movie production called "Stilled Life" for a school in Kettering - Ohio in 1973. Got so busy making the movie that my girlfriend left me...and that was a good thing - in hindsight! Anyway - glad you are being who you obvsiously were meant to be - John......a Baker man.

Tue Oct 05 20:16:56 2004 Referred By: james lee stanley site John - I am so impressed with you and your work. I used to work at an ad agency and talked often with your wife about you doing some work for us. Sadly it never happened - but I have been a fan since the early Batdorf & Rodney days. I am so curious...having worked with McLean (I have those cds - too) - are you a Latter Day Saint? Your work and is simple in touch - especially now that I know you did work on "The Two Best Years." I'm off to purchase that one. Please keep up the great work. I live in Vegas - and rumors are that Rodney works at a record store in town...have you had any contact with him? glad to hear about the James Lee/John colaboration - too! Best wishes

Sat Oct 09 16:48:25 2004 I've been a big fan since Off The Shelf. Saw you in San Bernadino(1972 I think)opening for Fleetwood Mac. We came to see you. You had trouble with the sound system that night but still stole the show! Fantastic! Thanks for the great music.
